    ... hill but we went on to the village, this pretty little village has many attractions. There is a yarn market, the castle, a dovecote and a tithe barn which is now the village community centre. We spent some time exploring this village and walked down to the Galoxy bridge which turned out to be a lovely curved packhorse bridge. We called in to the local church ...

    ... visa applicants have to go to the Moscow embassy to apply, even if they live 5000 miles away in Vladivostok. So now, I have to go to London to present myself in person. Fair enough. And then the Chinese visa. A little less onerous but still involves lots of financial outlay. So now it's just waiting until my new passport arrives and then trusting a Russian travel agency with hundreds of pounds for the vague promise of train ...

    ... and would have gone on if Robin had his way. I suggested that we take a, slightly more sheltered route although not so picturesque way, along the road. I was so glad to have my Arab scarf which I wrapped round my head. The wind was blowing in one ear and almost out the other ! We reached the car after a long tramp uphill on the road, glad to get out of the wind. Our cup of tea that Sue had waiting was never more welcome ...

    ... as long as you kept out of the wind. There caravan is in a park of 2500, incredible for us to imagine. You are not supposed to live there permanently, only being allowed to stay at night for 10 months of the year, during the other two months you can stay during the day but must find somewhere else to stay at night, even though you won the caravan.     ... station and we went back for a lovely lunch. sue had made a delish butternut, lentil and mushroom dish. We had a walk in the afternoon and called in to see Loenna's new guineapigs -Toffee and Midnight. The family turned up later for tea and snacks. Sam and Olly busy with school and college.
