    ... much dusting...One or two is best for me. After a long day of sightseeing in Cologne time to find the Cologne beer - which was not a problem at all - they have little pubs along the pedestrian area which runs about two blocks. Stopped at Papa Joe's...must be a kind of local hangout.. We found a window table onto the square so we could people watch. We saw two weddings...lots of tourists...a pug dog...a few ...

    Before dinner we had a farewell Captains Cocktail Party on board followed by a Farewell Captain's Dinner (a 5 star 5 course dinner to die for).     Early this morning, about 4.30, we sailed passed Frankfurt and onto Cologne, berthing at about 1pm. We opted for the city walking tour which was about 1.5 hour duration. We learnt about the history of Cologne, or Koln as it is called in Germany. With a population of 1 million, it's the 4th biggest city in Germany (behind Berlin, Hamberg, Munich). The Romans established a settlement at this location on the Rhine about 2000 years ago and it has has continuous settlement ever ...

    After a good sleep (post Temazepam), we had arrived at Cologne at 1010 in the morning. We had breakfast. Today's forecast is 19-21 and cloudy. It reached 21 degrees.
    We went on a shore excursion at 10;30 to 12:30. We were all assembled into groups with our own tour local guide. The walk took 2 hours and we saw some of the main sights of Cologne and finished up at the DOM cathedral.
