I awoke at 7 a.m this morning, which is a little later than normal but although I would like the luxury of sleeping a bit longer, the body is wide awake. So a leisurely approach to the day is appropriate, starting with a shower. This is something I don't do whilst walking the Camino, the shower is always at night so that I don't start the days walk with soft feet. A little trick I learned in my pre Camino reading. That's it for the moment. In future blogs I hope to share with you some do the extraordinary stories of those pilgrims I have met- this is so much a part of the way.
Adios for the moment, buenos noches.

... I was booked back at the hotel in St Jean so unlike the people I met there who were booked at the Albergue- the cheap dormitory style boarding school type accommodation only these are mixed and often three decker beds with as many as 90 in the one room- So I had to retrace my steps back down the mountain, a journey of some 8.5Ks making the grand total of 17 Ks.

  • The people I met And who became travelling companions on that first day were: an Irish couple ...
