... be only 30 minutes away from Burgos but it took us one and a half hours to get there with Maria and her mother and I all sitting in the back of a small VW Polo and us going around in circles and Maria and her mum yelling directions excitedly from the back seat. You find yourself consciously going slower at times to savour the last few days, the last few kilometres to make the adventure last a little while longer. In two days' time it will be all over when I walk into Burgos... Not that I ...

... So, the bus ride was only two hours long and was the first sophisticated mode of transportation we'd taken advantage of in weeks. Our Mercedes Benz bus was quite comfortable and our feet thanked us. The countryside was nice, but we feel as of we didn't miss too much. We've vowed to come back someday and hike this portion. We'll see if we hold true to our word. At one point the bus driver appeared to get up from the front and walk to ...
