I awoke at 7 a.m this morning, which is a little later than normal but although I would like the luxury of sleeping a bit longer, the body is wide awake. So a leisurely approach to the day is appropriate, starting with a shower. ... village. It is so small (2,100 people) that they don't have any clothing or shoe stores but have to rely on a market in the main square once a week. Had a walk around the place which they say had its heyday in the 12th century. Interestingly Nadia Commaniche must have walked the Camino and stayed here.

... about this decision, as it meets both of our needs. We will miss each other tho! We've become quite attached, and love each others company! (and Cathy has to stay in an Alburge by herself while I 'suffer' in a hotel for one night.
There sure were a few days when the disappointment seemed overwhelming, but then we realized that this is what a pilgrimage is all about. And this is what life is all ...
... again. Try as I may I can't seem to give it the slip- it seems to dog me wherever I go- it's part of the Camino experience as one tries to deal with one"s shadow side.

I was booked back at the hotel in St Jean so unlike the people I met there who were booked at the Albergue- the cheap dormitory style boarding school type accommodation only these are mixed and often three decker beds with as many as 90 in the one room- So I had to retrace my steps back down the mountain, a journey of some 8.5Ks making the grand total of 17 Ks.
