In this group of divers the youngest
was 14 and the oldest was in his 50's.
Wow what a way to make a living,
Then back to the ship to cast off at 6pm.
The weather was hot and humid about 92 degrees.
A nice refreshing dip in the pool was a great way to cool off.

getting ready for the day.

... br>The history of Acapulco (per the tour book), is a city of about 700,000 people. This became
a major port back in the 1500's due to the arrival of Hernan Cortez,
which at that time many treasures were shipped to Mexico City and on to Spain. After World War 2 this became a favorite
vacation spot.More to come!

The museums, the bordom, the welcome farewell

... because I didn´t meet any other person during my three days there that I really could converse with.
Friday I went around passing empty bars until it started to rain, then I happily retired to my room. I went to explore the city Saturday, determined to find some cool people to do some serious drink with that night. Passed the time drinking pina colada by the beach until nightfall. I continued my hunt for English ...

... us with refreshments which we all had a laugh at, since we psyched ourselves up so much, then again we convinced ourselves the other male passenger was an accomplice in this freaky set up. Lets just say we barely shut our eyes that night and the fork was in Corinna's hand for the next 8 hours until we safely arrived in Puebla! All the fuss for nothing, apart from a couple of innocent Mexicanos trying to make a living!

A good base for visiting Acapulco

Their rates are between 300 peso for a double and up to 900 peso for a suite that sleeps up to six people, but you shouldn't have any problems in getting discount on ...

... 5th floor with gorgeous views out to the bay. Rooms seems huge after the stateroom on the ship (even if it was a mini-suite). We went downstairs to just above beach level to the restaurant (one of two). They were serving pool food: sandwiches, tacos, and burgers. My taco was quite tasty. Very few of the wait staff spoke any English, and the other customers seemed to be Mexican. It was now the heat of the day, so we all took a siesta (and/or read for a while). At 15.00h, we got the ...

... isn't much left to hang out on deck sev, but I squeeze in the time whenever I can. Tuesday was also our first pub night on the ship. Semester at Sea has completely revamped their alcohol service and it is much more efficient. In the fall we had to buy individual drink tickets the night before the pub night, which meant waiting in long lines and wasting time. Now they give us a card with 18 spaces that get stamped each time you buy a drink so there's no waiting in line or ...

... to Pie de la Questa and our camp. Somehow we get the wrong bus and end up getting the full tilt tour of the back roads of the village of Pie de la Questa which included the side by side passing our our bus with another on a steep incline on this rock laden dirt road where it sure lookes as if there were'nt enough room for one bus to pass let alone two side by side. Wellm the buses pass each other as the two drivers jocky for position and eventually we get back ...
