    nice and clea place to stay. It is not very cheap but worth the price. One of the better places in Tilcara

    ... we came out of the mountains, we saw the salt flats. They are very similar to the ones in easthern Utah. They have a little house where local artisans make crafts out of salt. We baught a couple of times from them. Everything was very cheap (10 pesos). It was interesting to watch the men working. They used their knives to carve the stone as you watched.

    ... the road to Ticara as its just not busy enough. Finally I see life ahead and its two cyclists. I stop them and ask if they speak English. "For sure we do, we're from london".     ... trying to make us by salad and sandwhiches, cream sitting in the hot sun - I dont think so! Bussed for 3 hours to the border town of La Quiaca where we stayed the night.
