      Return to Argentina

After a crazy few days in Bolivia it was time to head back to Argentina. We heard that it was just as cheap to take a taxi from Tupiza to the border rather than get a bus so boarded a people carrier and off we went. All was going well until the car started stopping on the way out of town to pick people up from the side of the road. It was quite comfy to begin with but by the time we left the outskirts of town there were 11 people in what was supposed to be a 7 seater. There ...

      ... nothingness.

We saw many beautiful cacti, views each more spectacular than the last and had explanations of places and villages from our driver.

Then, as we turned a bend in the road and started our descent, our driver proudly announces "Salinas Grandes" as he pointed at a shimmering White mirage in the distance.

... you do so after you use the bidet or before? Is it common decency to run the bidet for a few seconds after you are done using it? We even talked to a French woman who said that they arenīt even used anymore in France and that she had no idea how to use it. I guess the European roots of Argentina, seen in the people, the food, and the architecture, is perhaps best seen in the bathroom. Who ...

... 2 months it had started to feel like home, with everything very familiar and easy, and we knew it was only going to get harder from this point on. Places like Bolivia are much harsher environments, nobody speaks English, the accomodation is much more basic etc. Argentina had been a great place to really start our travelling experience, but it definetely feels like time to challenge ourselves a bit more.

      And so on to Chile..
