We arrived at Llanes and it took 5 hours to drive to Lanes. It was so boring.
When we got there we realized that there were cats.

They were so cute and there was also donkeys, cows and sheep.

The next day we went to some blow holes.

Llanes, at the top of Spain was a stopover that surprised us with its quiet, relaxing village life, dramatic views of the mountain range and interesting coastline with its many inlets and beaches.

The quaint apartment was in a small village that was surrounded by farms with an abundance of animals including cows, donkeys, emus, turtles and lots of cats for the kids to try to pat.

It was also inspiring waking up to the most ...

      ... water mist.

But it is really waves crashing through underground tunnels which came up to the surface and
      blew out mist.
My sister was a bit scared. It was so good, that we went back the day after to see them again.

I really enjoyed Llanes because it was different it was like in the outback with tonnes of
      animals.

... it has just celebrated it first 20 years.

It is lovely to see the way the Bilbao city planners are transformimg the town on from its industrial past into a city showcasing modern art. The town has many interesting sculptures dotted around, and of course the Guggenheim is the jewel in the crown. Interestingly a conversation with a neighbour in the “aire” at Bilbao said the museum was more interesting on the outside than inside, so ...

Entry to Llanes was spectacular. After driving 500km in 5 hrs the rain hit. 150mm in 30 mins. The town went under with police directing you away from the city. The last 10km took 1 1/2 hrs. Thank goodness the town drains quickly. The apartmentent is on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the centre of town. People watching beccomes an artform. Parking in the garage is interesting fitting the car with 50mm each side. Have to fold ...
