It was gloriously sunny today with nary a cloud in the sky as I backed out of our berth, accidentally leaving Mister Kitty stranded on the pontoon and having to go back for him so he could hop back on board. ... but it's surrouded by green hills and there's a glorious-looking beach just round the corner. Tomorrow should be another fabulously sunny day, so the plan is to have our first proper beach day, completely with picnic and perhaps even a swim in the sea (if I'm feeling brave. Northern Spain has a pretty cold sea even in this heat). Then on Sunday we're moving on again, to another anchorage which will, we hope, be free of inconsiderate fishing boats.

... s row - along the harbour front were several mansions designed to look like castles (complete with turrets) and the odd more modest cottage-style mansion. When we went exploring we found even more houses like this, although some were clearly hotels, as well as an outdoor public gym, which we were delighted by. We really liked the town in general (we didn't get as far as Bilbao, and I'm not entirely sure which town we actually explored, but whatever it's called it's very nice ...

... Other campers came to see what we were doing, no one spoke English. But they marvelled at our 1km of strawberries we were eating. Who knew eating strawberries could be so messy. They got warm in the sun, and we weren't paying much attention....delicious! Still stuck in our cloths tho.
After dinner we went for a walk around the headlands and got back to the tent just in time. The thunder, lightning and rain are perfect to fall asleep to.

... and statues. There was one beach which had a slippery dip in order to get down to the beach from the jetty wall, and people everywhere eating all colours of ice cream.
We ended our day with a delicious dinner at a restaurant as a birthday celebration gift thanks to Jen and Greg. It was great! The waiter was super young and couldn't speak any English, so we had fun with him, hand signals and facial expressions were used to order what we wanted and to pay at the ...
