... Offered us drinks as soon as we got there. Bryce and I both ordered water. The front desk gave us two pink carnations. They smelled pretty! We headed to room 116 and settled in. I was starving so we ordered room service. Quite a lot of it. Hey it was free! We ordered a 1/2 portion of caprese salad, 1/4 chicken with fries and vegetables, a 1/2 portion of chicken fajitas, a shrimp cocktail and strawberry cheesecake for dessert. It was all very good except the cheesecake which ...

We have made good memories and learned what an all-inclusive holiday is all about. It sure was a nice getaway from what seems to be a ...

David's jet lag kicked in again and, as usual, he was awake at 4am. It was a few hours before the rest of Playa Del Carmen woke up and opened their cafes for 'desayuno' - breakfast. We ate at a small Spanish comedor, a kind of a cafe, next to our hotel. David had been thinking of Huevos Rancheros since waking up 3 hours earlier and wasn't disappointed. The coffee was served with sugar & cinnamon - no idea if that's a Mexican ...

... on the leafy avenue of hotels and villas that stretches south from the hotel in the morning and either being too knackered, or fearful of spending more large sums on shiny things, in the evening. And that fear proves well-founded as we take an evening constitutional down Avenida Quintada after our post-Coba beach session. Intending to pick up just a little memento or two - a fridge magnet perhaps or maybe some fine Mexican coffee - before choosing ...
