Down by the sea, a Mayan City

... America. I was hoping to see the Temple of the Frescos because it had painted on its walls a three part fresco of the Maya. The bottom was of the underworld, the middle was of the life of the Mayan people and the top was of their heaven which showed a man-like figure riding a horse down from the heavens. This appears to be evidence that at least that section of the fresco was complete after the arrival of the Spanish which re-introduced the horse to the Americas. But we would ...

When we first saw the entrance of the cenote we were impressed a lot. The huge cave entrance with tropical trees around it and the crystal clear blue water glittering and shining - it was just breathtaking.

Dani and I managed to book our seats next to each other, with 50kg baggage in as many bags as we wanted, with snack and drinks and as we later found out with ...

... swimming they are so big. We were very lucky because there were only 4 or 6 boats and each boat was surrounded at one point or another by 3 or 4 sharks.

We got prepared and started jumping to the water in groups, we had to get ready with jacket, fins, mask and snorkel and once ready we had to wait for the captain signal as he moved the boat to position the swimmers right in front of a coming shark. Once he said jump we were in the water and the first thing you ...

... with Bobbie on the back. Just as we were about to head off in our group it rained hard for about 5 mins, just as we took off it stopped. There was a tour guide at the front on a bike, the Russians following him on a double, the mother/daughter on a double behind them, then us, then the Asian girls on singles behind us and another tour guide bringing up the rear occasionally going in front of the group to take photos as we ride past. We rode 20km through the ...
