... the cathedral, this post would be a book. A couple highlights were the Giralda Tower, the High Alter and the Tomb of Columbus. We did the tower first, as was recommended by the cathedral staff, especially with the boys. It is a 330ft climb up through spiraling ramps (about 35 of them) to the top. The views are amazing and there are 24 bells that seem to ring at sporadic times. At the very top of the tower is a 4,500lb bronze statue ...

As we lay back on the pillows in the bed on the first night in our new cabin we both had a peaceful, easy feeling (I must stop doing that!!) and woke at 8am refreshed after an undisturbed night (except a toilet trip at 4am but that's an age thing!!)

There are no trees to speak of and the center of the island is jut pretty much bare volcanic slopes, in the colors of brown, red and black.
