... Lutz and Gutz {honest to God} are. Their friend Patrick doesn't surf at all so I don't know what kind of trip it'll be for him. We went out to a cocktail bar with them that night after having some beers in the hostel first. Steve and Aaron had packed both fridges with Corona's - 'only 10 pesos a beer man, there's no way you'll get cheaper than that man!' The boys were looking to party but were utterly disappointed when we got down to ...
Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico doireann_brianWow, i cant believe we forgot to write about this one. Sorry guys, its not that we forgot its just that we forgot, if you now what i mean. Puerto Escondido was one of the better stops on this trip, i know we keep on saying that but overall i think it might take the cake. The group of Aussies and Europeans definitely helped out the situation along with the amazing beaches that had some good surf. Its a cool little place, not to big and not ...
Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico canook... our “let-a-taxi-driver-take-us-to-a-h otel” method resulted in us being dropped off in front of the Hotel Flor de Maria located in Col. Marinero, a quiet residential area just off the beach that bears the same name. The 550 pesos price of a room had me glancing across the street at the Hotel Vicky where we ended up paying 350 pesos for a lovely room facing a huge tract of palm trees.

We could hardly wait to drop off our ...
Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico lobo... chips stashed away in our bags for eating later on. Our flight left on time but circled around the airport of Oaxaca several times before landing. We landed at about 6:20AM and had a 7:00 flight to Puerto Escondido. I was a little nervous. The line for customs was slow and huge but since we were the first ones off the plane we made it through quickly. Good thing I passed on the hotel ...
puerto escondido, Mexico travelbee... in a Tanzania is so much more my style. I don´t like being hot, humid, sandy, and salty. I hate seafood. I´m frightened of all the critters that I see brought out of the water (including, as I found out this week, the sea turtles that are so prevalent in this area. I don´t know what the heck the heck a turtle could do to me, but still...). I tried SCUBA diving and am the only person I know that hated it ...
Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico dmwalsh... already. Maybe tomorrow we´ll head on to San Cristobal...... Zapatista country. Travell**s Tips Our boat guy was called H**mando and his boat was called the Tornado. You can find him down by Danny´s T**race on the main beach. He charged us 300 pesos an hour which was the price ev**yone seemed to be charging. Don´t know if that changes with the season but we did ask alot of people and ev**yone had the same price. He was excellent. The more we´ve heard about ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico lydsandemmet... come. Afterwards, we went out into the country again because after there has a been a case of dengue or malaria they spray insecticide as a ring around the house so that those mosquitoes that carry the disease can't spread. They told me that they used to spray everything but it wasn't working very well which is when they decided to start community capacity building programs instead. Pretty awesome! Especially because the ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico shef11308After breakfast we got packed up and took a taxi to Playa Zicatella also known as the Mexican Pipeline. I can understand why. The surf was huge and only Kai would go into the water. He took Islie in too but only up to his waist and she didn't like it much. Too wavey. We found a cute little shack ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico kaiandheather... One guy has been here 2 months. Really looking forward to moving onto Guatemala now, i think we are going to head to Antigua to stop of for a couple of days. We have met a lad from Kent who is on his gap year too and he is heading south aswell so we may travel with him for a while. At the moment im waiting for it to cool down a bit and then we are going to the beach to eat some fresh fish. We saw the locals this morning hawling in some huge tuna which look amazing.
Puerto Escondido, Mexico guyandcalum... the necessity of a swimming pool at beachside accommodation but, the beach itself not having showers, it was always a welcome sight two or three times a day just to wash the salt off. Having said beachside, it's not akin to the beachside fales in Samoa which is a ten or twenty metre walk to the water's edge, but throwing one road in the way didn't add all that much extra difficulty in making our way down to the umbrella-covered deck chairs where we were ...
