... to the top of the Duomo. All 461 of them! I went to the Museum on the History of Science. Nobody else wanted to come! We went to the Bibolo gardens, the POnt Vechio bridge and the Duomo. We are quite efficient tourists when we put our minds to it. Florence is not that big really. We are off to Pisa tomorrow. then a day in Rome and home. Cheers
Florence, Florence, Italy bobdonmeglaura... helpful. we had a group hug with her when we left the Marriott's Frenchman's Cove; she was very accommodating on every level.

Also Taraja (the bartender) and Francia (activities) we also so helpful. My wife I enjoyed leaving the children with activities on Wednesday while we went to Banana Tree Restaurant. The food and view by the way is excellent.

I have three suggestions though. The elevators needs A/C. Could you imagine four of us in an elevator that ...
Nishihara-mura, Japan kimgold09... passenger and hotel names on bits of cards. Of course mine wasn't on them, how very Indian. I walked past in a daze and sat, lonely planet gripped in my hands, my only guide. Just a rickshw, a rickshaw ride away from my hotel. The task seemed suddenly dauting and great. I mastered my fear and walked out into the thick hot, congested air of sprawling Delhi. A brief encounter with an autorickshaw driver confirmed that my haggling skills were poorly ...
Delhi, India lonesomegeorgeHi guys, Another update! No massage last week...TIA after all and so I shall have to go some other time...What a week though..it started off with some farm work; shoveling ********* into holes for cabbage..glamorous. The children celebrated the official beginning of term with singing and dancing and a send off for Ilka, who leaves next week...it was great, especially when Emma's younger brother Edward (who is a rugged 24 ...
Kasangati, Uganda amywanless... the side of a hill and has long stretches of gardens growing everywhere. It is well kept too. The grass is "cut" daily. When I mean cut, there is a guy who has a machete with a curved end on it and he just swings it back and forth to lop off the grass. I just want to put a golf club in this guy's hand and see what happens. We are going to be returning to Tekle's clinic next week but so far, so good. UPENDO HIV One group that MH works with in Arusha is UPENDO HIV. This ...
Arusha , Tanzania maniaintanzaniaminion 2 We only stayed at lake maggiore overnight, but we still managed some decent sightseeing, visiting Isola Bella. Isola Bella is the most popular of the three islands, and well deserving of its reputation. Consisting of a couple of touristy shops and a huge villa with garden. The villa was grand but excessive, as though the interior decorator was a compulsive flourish addict. The gardens are the real draw, absolutely ...
lake maggiore, Italy lilbluaxelotl... shopping. Target, Kmart, all my favourite stores there. Calvin Klein for him. Time to go and about half an hour later the hubby was hungry. Stopped by KFC for some hot and spicy fillet. Juicy. Sour coleslaw goes well with it. Thickly-cut fries or what they call chips. Back on the highway. Nice mountain scenary. Chocolate factory. Koala conservation, penguin parade. Hmmm ...
World, United States adegian... I don't mind admitting it! The way these two kids were acting was so innocent and so pure and made me realise that its not about all the other stuff that comes along later on - the money, the back-stabbing, the babies, the divorces - its about that moment, just then, when they were sitting on a bus and she had her head in his lap and he was stroking her hair - that's the real thing and that's ALL it is! Of course, I know all this now - just wish I'd ...
Mumbai, India mysticzed... of building houses with wood and zinc and painting them in bright colours. We enjoyed lunching here at the various trattorias and were treated to free tango shows. One of the highlights of our stay in Buenos Aires was the visit to the Recoleta Cemetery! It is an exclusive cemetery which houses the remains of Argentina´s most famous people including Eva Peron ...
Bariloche, Argentina dancoughlin... out of harms way, however unfortunately the destruction it would cause meant people were going to be devastated. After spending a month in Central America and seeing the types of housing that exists in small rural communities, we have a better understanding for what a hurricane do, and how it can literally devastate an area. We definitely saw that in the U.S. with Katrina and it seems like it happens here all the time. Thank you for thinking of us and praying for our safety!
