... to see if we could store our luggage somewhere till check in time. We're in luck. They're already taking luggage and telling us that check in will start at 12:30. We actually were totally checked in and had all our documents before 12:30 and headed for the ship. Our room would not be ready till 2pm, but we were able to go ahead and have lunch on board. Ate a nice ...

Although we're pretty capable shoppers, we decided we might get some insider info, so went to the presentation and were joined by about 20 others who wanted shopping tips. We even went as far as paying $25 for a shopping card and special offers. Erica, the cruise activity person, said it was a service to passengers to offer these special opportunities AND turn shopping into a treasure h
San Juan, Puerto Rico fair... now. We walked around the forts too; they were pretty cool with some really gorgeous views. We then headed back to the ship, ate dinner and then headed back into Old San Juan to go to the bars. I'll just say we had a great time and leave it at that haha. SAS kids were EVERYWHERE, it was like we had taken over the city. Dave and I headed back a little earlier than Will and we stopped at this hot dog vendor who was still open at 1am for some ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico hepstein1... Today we finally found the elusive rock climbing wall which we had been trying to find almost everyday. We watched a few people attempt to climb it and although I had good intentions of trying it out, I decided to not embarrass myself and just sat there in the heat and watched everybody else. Tonight's final dinner was great. Up to this point, I had been enjoying the buffet more than the proper dinners. However tonight they were serving lobster!!! Lucca's ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico royv1... decks are beautiful. It's the most unreal experience ever. We sat out on the bow tonight and were lying down watching the stars. It is so dark that you cannot tell where the ocean meets the sky, and it looks like you are literally sailing into the sky. I'm very excited for the rest of this trip. My basic reflections on life on the ship so far are this: Showering is tricky, running on a treadmill is an adventure in itself, and spending most of your day out on deck in the sun is not b

After the welcome reception, we went out. I met up with Lauren and Katie at a bar called La Tortuga, after ten of us crammed into a taxi van. Michelle and I sat in the front seat together, and the driver was hitting on Michelle the entire time, telling her he wanted to take her out the next ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico hayesbk... Non-vessel ceramic artifacts recovered were spindle whorls, spindle whorl blanks, and smoothing tools. There were 48 diagnostic ceramic vessel sherds with a minimum vessel count of thiry. The vessel assemblage from these structures was predominately utilitarian in nature. I divided the vessels into 2 categories: bowls and jars. Because none of the rim sherds possessed much of the body of the vessel, full vessel shapes could not be approximated. Therefore, following the ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico linzstoker... had set up music and speakers around the whole area. There was some great live music in the club, though it was so crowded, dancing was almost impossible. Most of the party was out on the street, anyway, spilling down the whole block. Tons of locals were around, as well as a couple hundred or so SASers, and the party didn't stop for hours. I had to catch a bus early this morning (Wednesday) for a trip, and to be honest, dragging myself out of bed at 7am was pretty difficult ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico jbeight... that our best bet was to head back into Ensenada Honda to escape the high winds. On Tuesday we chose to anchor in Ensenada Fulladosa rather than Dakity Harbour because though dead calm behind two reefs, boats at Dakity were taking the wind in the face. Overnight things began to settle and with smaller seas forecast we decided to head to Vieques Wednesday morning. The sail across was great though we did take a couple of waves into the cockpit on the port side. As long as ...
