Llanes, at the top of Spain was a stopover that surprised us with its quiet, relaxing village life, dramatic views of the mountain range and interesting coastline with its many inlets and beaches.

Here eating is a way of life. There are restaurants and cafes everywhere. It makes you wonder how that many can survive. Businesses open from 10-12. Lunch goes from 12 - 2 and then the shops reopen and go from 4 - 10pm. Hard to get used to. They start dinner about 9pm even the kids about 1-3.
