So odd to say good morning after two months of saying hello in Chinese. Through customs now have 4 hours to relax until my flight to Chicago. Tried going standby sooner however my last flight to Toledo is on American and not united so the airline doesn't know if they have seating earlier to Toledo anyway. I doubt I'll be able to work anything out but there is a 10 am flight to Chicago that if I can work something with American I might ...

Day 2 started with a 20 minute walk to Pier 33 in cloudy cool weather to catch our Ferry to Alcatraz. It is only a 15 minute ride to the Island and by the time we arrived the sun had come out from behind the misty fog and it turned out to be a beautiful warm sunny day. Cirsty almost asked what is in Clam Chowder but decided on the seafood basket instead.

... We walked down toward the harbor and saw the Columbus monument. Very big, stay tuned for pictures, the wireless here is funky, We are in the old section. By old, as our driver told us, 1000 years old vs the new section which is 100s of years old. Lots if old narrow streets with so many restaurants and shops. We took a random turn down a narrow street and came upon a beautiful square called Placa Real, mow that's what I'm talking amount! Reminds me a lot of walking around ...

On Thursday morning Bhavik happened to have a meeting down in Sunnyvale, which is where I was heading that day too. It worked out really well, because I could catch a ride down there with him. I was going to visit Robert, our family friend who I stayed with for Thanksgiving while I was in San Jose last November too. I was only staying with him for the night, but it was still worth stopping by and saying hi. He got off work at 5pm, so we had the whole evening to hang out. We ...
