... a large port city on the way where we'd transfer. We were the first ones there and there were two buses waiting. We stood by them and waited for the driver to open the luggage compartment underneath. Then, the first bus pulled away! The driver never came out like ALL other drivers in all other countries. Yep, that was our bus.

We had to wait until 7 am for the office to open and also the only other bus leaving in that direction was ...

... problem finding accommodation without having booked ahead. Sure enough, within a matter of minutes we were on our way to an apartment in someone's home right in the heart of Zadar's Centre. While it wasn't anything glamorous, it was really neat to be so welcome into someone's home where "Gloria" (her English name) and her daughter live, and it gave us easy access to the city.

Zadar is kind of a funny city. It's not ...

... When we returned to the office for Dick's follow-up appointment, he greeted us in surf shorts and flip flops. (He did change into his scrubs.) The other dentist in the office appeared briefly in surgical scrub pants and a tee shirt, toting motorcycle helmet in one hand and boxes of take out pizza and pop for their lunches in the other. None of this, however, stood in the way of our confidence. Dick hasn't been this pleased with any other dental ...
