... last year.. Had a few beers with him before getting showered ready to go out.. Enjoyed a pizza, garlic bread and a few glasses of red wine. Walked along Serendipity beach having a few beers, then on whiskey with Sober the Cambodian barman who worked at cloud 9 last year but now at the bar next door.. After this its all a complete blur... Too much whiskey! A fight with a big German lump and a respectful hug after.... Just a blur ...

... to go back to Siem Reap to teach) and were paying less than two pounds each a night!!! Bargain !!! We had heard loads about the famous night market in Trat so that's where we headed for dinner. And the market did not disappoint, fresh fruit, food, smoothies and milkshakes and bakery everywhere !!! All fresh and clean and ready to eat ! Oh and did I mention cheap!!! I had a three course meal (basically) and a smoothie for less than a pound ����� ...

... I take to be the battery from the last card. A straightened safety pin pings the thing clear, or rather attaches to it. Turns out its the magnet that holds the battery in a key card. This whole process takes a good couple of hours. I go have a shave before we go back to the magic garden for fishs Leah's got a snapper coming and I'm getting barracuda. Wednesday 18th December Today we planned to hire a moped before leaving for the Cambodia - Thai border but the strong presence of police on every street corner made us think twice. They certainly would capitalised on Christmas had they seen us scooting along. Our final Cambodian journey to the the border was a perfect way to remember this country. River views and winding roads with fruit sellers dotted the traffic free roads as we passed children cycling home ...

We stayed at Siam Beach Resort, on Lonely Beach, which looks lovely in the promotional pictures and is in a perfect setting but unfortunately requires a huge amount of work to repair and update. The room itself was very good but the communal buildings had holes in the flimsy roofs where rain poured in. Everything was damp and it poured for days. Seeing the monsoon rains did make it clear how difficult it is to maintain buildings in this climate. Wood rots quickly and anything metal rusts while ...
