We left the hotel early to make it to San Benedetto Food Market in Cagliari. This is the main market for the capital where they sell the morning catch of seafood, meats, cheeses and veggies. The place is located on two floors just off the historic district. Em did not enjoy all the smells from the fresh fish but she did like the fresh bakery goods. Afterwards, we made our way though the narrow ...

Today is a traveling day from the southern east-side to the southern west-side of Sardinia. We drove down the Costa Rei, around the point, through the capital again and then on to Teulada via the mountains. Their daughter, the foreign exchange student, was actually unavailable that night, but we made plans to see her our last ...

... in 1307 during the realm of the Pisa Republic and is named after the small marble sculpture of an elephant poised at its corner. The funniest bit was seeing like eight police officers sticking a sign on a cafe (obviously shutting it down for some reason). Two officers doing the deed and the others observing. Hilarious.

It's Italian Night tonight on the ship (God help us! 70% of the passengers are Italian). Dinner was mostly Italian dishes including tiramisu (double yum) ...

    Next day at Cagliari

Decided to go on a trip down the coast to a little place called Villisemus.

We wanted the coast road down but GPS did not, it took us on a newish motorway which wasn't blocked off at the turn off but we soon found out after traveling some distance down that we screamed the brakes on to avoid slamming into a container parked on the road with work men about! Turned back and with ...
