... there to be a form of this party in more than one place in Thailand.
After spending 90 minutes driving up and down the Longbeach area of Ko Lanta asking several locals if they knew where the party was (but receiving conflicting responses regarding its direction) I came to the conclusion that the stories were just bullsh*t ploys to get people to go to a particular bar or club. I could hear no evidence of a crazy rave on any beach and there was not a single ...
... with a long steel rod used for fireshows yelling “ Fran, Fran, Tim!!!” we stopped and she in all seriousness said “ I go to Trang, back to my family. I think someone try to kill me. I not stay here!”
“Yes, ok I think that’s good Wan” I told her nervously “I need money” she stated
This was not right but Anne offered a little and I thought it best to contribute a little too. Off she went and I was sure it wasn’t ...
... against the island. I didn’t want to ask her too many details though because I’m sure she saw some pretty gruesome stuff that day.
After the dives, I took a long nap then met up with this Dutch girl I’d met on the boat for dinner and drinks. We later met up with some of her hostel-mates and went to this Reggae bar which also had a Thai boxing ring. We saw two Thais duke it out which was pretty intense. Later, bar patrons were encouraged to enter the ring and ...
Ko Lanta, already my last Thai Island! Emma, Hazel and I arrived right in the middle of Songkran, Thai new year. It was only 11am, but the party on the streets of Koh Lanta had already begun! Since thai new year is in the hottest time of the year, it is basically just one big huge water fight!!! We got sprayed as we were looking for a guesthouse, and picked one that was right in the middle of the craziness. So we really had to choice...we had to go join in the water fight! It was a ...
Ko Lanta, Thailand myriam_123It's Monday morning so time to note down what we've been up to at the weekend. A very pleasant day on Saturday and in the late afternoon we went on the sundowner cruise from the hotel round some of the island and into the mangroves. It was thoroughly enjoyable although we didn't see any monkeys. They served drinks and light snacks on the boat so when we came back to the hotel we just had a couple of cocktails and then went back to our ...
koh lanta, Krabi, Thailand pebbles1... by boat to Krabi, Justin to Phuket. We said see ya later & I search for a seat. There was nothing on the bottom of the boat, so I looked upstairs. I grabbed the only empty bench seat, sat down & looked across the aisle. Smiling back at me were the Swedish sisters from our group. They were going to Bangkok as well, so we made plans to meet up. I spent most of the boat trip entertaining a 6-year-old Thai boy by punching, tickling & playing video games ...
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand wally09... my godmoth** Ann and h** daught** Karen who I haven't seen for at least ten years! It was a mad coincidence that they w**e staying on holiday on the same beach as us! we had a great meal and chatted about traveling around the world as Karen is a seasoned pro and had a good old laugh. We took a couple of day trips from Ko Lanta so see the next couple of blogs for more including thieving monkey madness, mono claw crabs rucking, "The Beach" and a James Bond pickup in the morning....
Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand dieneGreetings From Ko Phi Phi! I left Kata yesterday afternoon, boarded a slow ferry across the crystal blue Andaman Sea, soaked up the rays on the deck top and snapped pictures of the smaller islands scattered along the way. I arrived late afternoon into the quiet pier of Ko Phi Phi surrounded by tall limestone cliffs decorated here and there with plush green trees. It's breathtaking to stare up at the steep cliff sides as you float face ...
