... month packed up in my backpack I set off for Ao Nang (which is just north of Krabi). I booked a mini van, as it is only 4 hours north of Satun. I was hoping this mini van experience wasn’t going to set the tone for the next month, as it was awful. Hung over, 7 hours later with a mini van stocked with people and dead fish (the smell was terrible), I got to Krabi only to have the driver ask me where I was going (in English). The next few days involved a bit of drinking, a bit of driving around on scooters, and a bunch of fun. Having never driven on the left side of the road was interesting to say the least, but none the less, we quickly caught on to the proper road etiquette. Which if you are wondering what this ...

... and tried fried chicken. This is another food item that is widely popular and I find strange. Anyways, the chicken is already fried when you pick the piece you want, then once you pick your piece, they fry it again. So actually it's double fried chicken, and yes it is delicious too. We walked around town the rest of the night, and had a beer at an outdoor restrauant playing live acoustic music. Perfect ending to a perfect day.
