... apart of their New Year celebrations. It was really interesting learning about their traditions and rituals that take place on the special day. Although the New Year isn't for another week, the school holds such celebrations as the school Easter holidays begin on Wednesday. All teachers welcomed me with open arms into their classrooms to watch their lessons. Everyone is just so friendly over here! I feel that when I go back to Scotland, I'll be smiling and speaking to every one I pass ...

I had nasi goreng for lunch and a shag burger for dinner. I ...

... really good, you choose your fish from the counter and choose how you want it cooked and it came out perfect! As nice as the hotel was there was not much else going on in Mount Lavinia and we headed south to a place called Hikkaduwa which is where we are now. Hikkaduwa is really cool and my favourite place so far! The first day here we just had a walk through the town to get our bearings and I needed a pair of sunglasses as I lost mine somewhere along ...

... coastline and the Galle Rd runs straight through it, parallel to the coast. The guesthouses and hotels scramble to be the closest to the water, and this development has led to the scouring of the beaches. Some areas are gorgeous but others are being retained by sandbags. It is all very similar to Mui ne in Vietnam although Mui ne did not suffer a tsunami. I stayed local for rides today and finally found a proper coffee ...
