... by the Tower inhabitants, to land on the French beaches where it belonged (according to our Yeoman Warder tour guide). The moat is now dry because of a dam built to prevent the water from entering. We stood in the now-dry moat and watched a funny retelling of Chaucer's Knight's Tale while waiting for our tour of the Tower.

Day 1 Up early to Reading station to heading into Paddington. Such a cool station. From there we wandered down to Hyde Park to and saw very underwhelming Kensington Palace. That was a really action packed weekend, topped off by watching the All Blacks play Ireland the next day in an Irish pub and seeing them win in something like the 83rd minute of the game! I am probably going to die a couple of years earlier because of those two games of sport ...

I have finally arrived in London! It has been a really crazy couple of days but I am happy to finally be here and at this point on my second night I am mostly settled. My flight got in around 7 AM London time (Wednesday) but I didn't sleep on the plane at all so I was quite tired by the time I got in. Luckily there were two other Lawrence girls on my flight so I wasn't on my own for long. I had been really nervous about navigating the airport ...
