... knowing we had left the hatches open out on the hook, returned to a flooded galley!) so get no airflow but we don’t want to run the generator and A/C, so we absolutely swelter in the heat inside the boat. No sleep for us!

In any event, we dropped into Ko Turatao, the last island in south Thailand before the Malaysian border on our way back which was highly recommended by other cruisers and by guide books. Unfortunately we really didn’t see the charm. ...

I was devastated, but still terribly excited that we had somehow succeeded in doing something that very few people have ever done, hook a very large billfish from their own boat, particularly a cruising/sailing catamaran. However, lady luck was not batting in our favour and when we reached the top it was just a blanket of mist with no view. The trip wasn't a waste though: we were still able to see the beautiful scenery from half way down ...

... hired a moped the exact same thing happened, as soon as we made it to the other side of the island we got stuck in a monster downpour. So we didn't get to see much else of the island after that, Cenang beach seemed to be the only place that the rain avoided so it made sense to just stay there. After 6 days on Langkawi we jumped on a ferry and then another really good, super new overnight bus back to Kuala Lumpur where we had a few days before catching a flight over to ...
