The drive up to Tanah Rata a few days ago was windy and bumpy. I always keep my backpack between my feet on bus trips, but for some reason this time I asked Martijn to put it into the overhead compartment. a few bumps later, it bounced from the compartment onto Martijn's lap and landed next to the driver. Dad finally made it up by himself - I think he was very proud. We then caught another gondola up to the top ...

... very funky smell. The guy on reception was really lovely and was trying to get me and Noel to go out with hi for drinks. As soon as we arrived the heavens opened and torrential rain started. Once it had eased we walked back to Cenang Beach road. We went to the duty free shop bought some champagne which was about £15 cheaper than back home. £28 for Bollinger instead of £44. We also bought some rum for New Year's Eve for £8!! As it ...
