... nicely and clearly marked and I felt a lot of relief because I had been worried about navigating the airport transfer details. The minute I could I bought a bottle of water and guzzled it down. ... stay in touch with Dong, who tells me in a message later that I am his first foreign friend. With the train running an hour or so late (for old time's sake I suppose), there is just time for a quick commemorative photo in Shenzhen before he heads out to meet his brother.

... to eat - into the soup to cook it then take it out, dip it in sauce and eat it. It's delicious! Later that evening Randy and I went to visit his aunt and uncle. Now after my two trips to his hometown and this trip to Shenzhen I think I've met all of Randy's uncles and most of his family. They love me! They are all very kind even though my Chinese isn't that great. The next day we went out for lunch again with his cousin at the restaurant that he manages, then we just relaxed ...

... and then generally speculating about his life. Walking to school with Catherine, Andreas and Mikkel every morning, eating most of our meals together and just generally being weird together. Having a comfortable little life with an awesome group of people. I'm really gonna miss that.
But what awaits for me is hiking through beautiful scenery, experiencing new cities and minority villages, seeing snow-capped mountains, wildlife, temples... bring it on.

... no AC. For me, it was the demands of Mastery Learning with a heavy curriculum and the constant extras added on. I grew very fond of my class, though, and they made everything worthwhile :)

There seemed to be something going on most evenings the last couple of weeks but happily, we didn’t have to attend them all – high school science fair, prom, graduation, middle & high school night, school concert ...
