The city is situated on the banks of the river Mekong (however when we were there it was at about 1 sixth of its size that it would be during the rainy season). We only had a few days here which was just right. Despite Vientianne being the capitol of Laos, there's simply no telling! It's pretty small and there's nothing of any note here. Quite unlike any capitol we've been to. We had a great time here though as we decided to splash out a bit and stay somewhere quite smart, so checked into the 'Lane Xian...

We wish you a Merry Christmas...in the sun!!! Very bizarre and not the same at all but hey we made the most! We decided to treat ourselves and checked into the Lane Xiang Hotel in Vientiane equipped with a swimming pool..oh yes!
