we arrived in vientiane at midday, the airport was so strange, it was like an open shack, an the baggage claim was just a tiny, rusty old conveyer belt.
vientiane was just a stop over to get to vang vieng, so we didnt do much. just stayed there a couple of nights and took in the scenery :)

After the drinks I had last night.. We had a long sleep in.. First sleeping till 9:30.. Then quickly downstairs for breakfast.. After breakfast back to bed ;) then we went into town for some lunch and have another look around...We found a place that had the best croissants I have had for ages.. Because it was 39 degree without a breeze we went back …

Relaxing doing nothing

Today we had a sleep in till 9:30.. And then we went for a quick breakfast.. We both had a very good sleep.. After two days of travel a good bed is worth millions... After our breakfast we went back to our room.. watch some tv.. relax a bit.. Check the web for the rest of our journey..

Around 13:00 we went for a browse around the streets …

This morning we woke up in our accommodation in Vinh we where keen for something to eat, as we didn't have dinner last night. As we where too late, and there was nothing around where we could have a snack.. But looking in the morning, we couldn't find any food on display.. or anyone that could speak a word English..

The city is situated on the banks of the river Mekong (however when we were there it was at about 1 sixth of its size that it would be during the rainy season). It has only about 300,000 people so is very quiet and peaceful compared to some of the other cities we will see on our epic …
