Passau is a city of about 50,000 bounded by three rivers, the Danube, the Inn, and the Ilz. We pedal first to see a bit of the old town, then along the bike path ...

Metal breastplates, knee guards, shin guards, helmets, swords, silver coins etc in perfect condition. The Romans settled here in 70 AD and called the place "Sor-viodurum". PM - The Danube trail is well signposted, we have only lost it several times, mostly entering or leaving ...

50 kms AM - It was a pity we didn't have an extra day in Regensburg as it is a wonderful old city. Left the city over the Steinerne Brücke, the oldest working stone bridge in Germany, it was constructed in the 1100's. Our first stop was at Walhalla, in the town of Donaustauf, it is an imitation of the Pantheon Temple on the Acropolis in Greece. Built in 1842 by King Ludwig 1 of Bavaria it contains 127 marble ...
