After a wild and eventful adventure across the Indian Ocean Basin too breathtaking to capture fully in words, it's difficult to believe that this expedition has come to a complete halt. If only summer lasted forever so that I could continue to expand upon my knowledge of the region back then! The year 1392 seems so much more fascinating than 3619, even without the modern technology we have in this day and ...

I still cannot believe how quickly time has flown by, especially with each day being packed with new things to explore and discover, but I am now in Canton, the last stop in our journey through the past. Because Nathan had gone off in the dhow, we did not travel together this time, but we had scheduled a meeting place and time in Canton prior to his wild run to the boats. Looking at my watch, I realized I had quite a while before we would meet each other again, so I decided ...

      ... 6th!!

The weather has been unusually warm and dry since we’ve been back, although it is raining today. The days are reaching the high teens and 10 -12 degrees at night. Tim is still wearing shorts to school, but I’m wearing long pants and sweaters, so I think he’s going for bragging rights. We took a long walk in the big park yesterday which is about a 20 walk from our place. It was full of people enjoying the beautiful day ...

We were back at the Family Mart this morning for another carton of milk .. another real cup of tea to start my day, yogurt and an egg, meat and lettuce wrap to get Shae started.

We caught the ferry across the road from the YHA to Haungsha. From there we stumbled upon the Huangsha Aquatic Products Market area (like the Fish Markets in Sydney) where all sorts of sealife was being sold ...

... the consistency was weird. After dessert we roamed the streets enjoying the scenery. The area was filled with shops much like those on Beijing road, but because we went at night everything was lit up and flashing. One particular square in this shopping district put Time square and Vegas to shame. Every inch in this area is covered in lights. It was a very beautiful thing to see.
