It frreakin' SNOWED today. I was expecting a day of sunshine but I only got a 20 second preview of blue sky this morning outside of town on the way to Salzburg Zoo. Check out the first pic to see what I thought was the unveiling of the mountains I've been longing to see. But instead I got the beauty of snow for a few hours. It was only light, but so happy I got to see it (and it was the first snow of the season).

We're going to Amsterdam next weekend for 4 days, and then the following weekend we're going to Rome for 4 days. We did do a few things last weekend, so I need to go back and update those in a bit. ...

... Eagle's Nest was spared.
The trip to the top of the mountain was quite hair raising. We caught a shuttle bus on a road cut into the side of the mountain. I was hanging on to both seats, not that that helped at all. The bus stopped around 100 metres beneath the Eagle's Nest. From here we entered a tunnel 100 metres into the side of the mountain. At the end of a tunnel was a brass lift which took 41 seconds to reach the top of the mountain.
There were amazing views ...
