A group of about 12 of us went to the Cottbuss Zoo, a 10-minute walk from our show facility. We saw many different animals and planted a tree by the yaks :) There was even an Up With People dedication plaque included next to our tree so that the world will know that we were there! How cool!
We sang with some monkeys, hung out with the sheep and... (drumroll please) FED THE ELEPHANTS! It was so fun but I was actually ...
... 6 hours and countless activities later, we were finishing up fika (yes! they have fika here too!) and heading out the door!
Our family and friends went really well and my host family loved it! My host sister even took a video of me singing "With One Heart". I've already posted a link of the video on here before but this one is a better view. Enjoy!
Tomorrow is a Vattanfall show. And we are having a religion seminar ...
... show in Vanersborg went extremely well as we performed our first encore performance! Yes! Go Cast B!
Before leaving Kerstin and Hans' home on Friday morning, they gave us gifts! We received chocolate bars and a book about typical Swedish holidays. AND I got Kerstin's recipe for apple pie :) Another great thing to make when I come home!
After our show, we took down the set, packed up our luggage, and ...
Enjoyed a nice couple of days in Spreewald, a network of natural canals in an area the size of the ACT. The thing to do here is to go on one of the canal rides, it's a must. Another is to cycle around the region, we did a little of both and also stayed at the Radler (meaning Cycling). The area is also known for the home of the famous Gerkin, therefore when in Spreewald....

... got it back in. I was feeling rather victorious, until she died 15 minutes later, surely from shock, which I had tried to correct the whole time with iv fluids wide open, but to no avail. She was followed by two dystocias, a middle of the night call and a DA the next day. Thankfully my Sunday afternoon was spent enjoying coffee and cake in ruhe (in quiet) with some work people!
Görlitz, Germany elizabessie... to Frankfurt, which would ultimately cause me to miss Claudia´s big 30th B-day party. Well, to make a long story short, I miraculously made my flight, all flight´s were delayed, and I made my connecting flight by just minutes. I arrive in Frankfurt, Germany and catch a train down to Bayreuth where Chris and Claudia live (he and his brother are family friends through a high school foreign x-change ...
Bayreuth, Germany jlewku... clean and tidy town not that I had expected anything less. It was just that some of those towns in the Ruhr area looked a bit shabby especially at the stop in Dusseldorf. We reached the Moselle river along which were tied up those very large cruise ships...very like the one we took on the Nile. Customers were being boarded as we watched. Lots of oldies about to go on 12 day Rhine cruises. We walked along the embankment towards The Eck, the corner ...
Koblenz, Germany brianc... I Got yet more pizza and sat and watched over an hour of J LO video clips that were on. I think im a big J Lo fan now. I sleep in my pub bed, woke up, with yet more bites!! Found a taxi and said 'train PKP' (PKP is the train station company), and then i said 'Stalag!!' He took me to the train station then the fun began. I said 'Train today, Berlin' She said yes and then i showed her my International student card which i had made in Lithuania from my ...
Görlitz, Germany martRothenburg, Germany, in Bavaria, is a walled Medieval town which dates back to 970. Snuggled tight against their neighbors, the timber framed, colorfully plastered buildings stretch their pointed roofs to the sky. As the snow gently lays, whisipers of a millenium of history dance along steep cobbled streets and across stalwart stone walls. Rothenburg reached ...
