    ... the Inn river. We cross over into Austria and continue along the bike path for a few miles. This has definitely got Bob thinking of another bike trip....as the bike path follows the river quite a long way. Passau is the beginning of many bike tours along the river to Vienna....about 300 km away. Back to Germany ...

    ... degree. Second, this is a job where you are allowed to drink beer while working with 2,000 degree furnaces!! The expert who was demonstrating his craft to us finished a one liter bottle, during the 25 minutes we watched and opened a second. Quite a job! Despite the imbibing, he did produce incredibly skilled and beautiful work!

    ... to see the scale of the brewery – it’s gigantic. The bottling plant alone was phenomenal, with a capacity of 120,000 bottles per hour. You got to see the historical side of the brewery as well as the new contemporary side –
    essentially everything is brewed in the same way, only bigger and better with more robotics and less man power. It’s all about being more efficient and brewing more beer! I suppose ...

    41 kms AM - Wow, what a morning! The exhibits in the Gäubodenmuseum in Straubing were extraordinary; the Roman objects found buried there in 1950 are amazing! Metal breastplates, knee guards, shin guards, helmets, swords, silver coins etc in perfect condition. The Romans settled here in 70 AD and called the place "Sor-viodurum". PM - The Danube trail is well signposted, we have only lost it several times, mostly entering or leaving ...
