We enjoyed a great glassmaking demonstration. We took away two interesting things from our tour — first, the glassmaker who showed us his craft had graduated with a physics degree at the top of his class in all of Germany, but has enjoyed glassmaking so much that he is doing this primarily and considering what he may want to do with ...

Lots of crops in very good condition along the Danube here; wheat, barley, oats (a little), canola, rye, maize and a fodder crop that looked like silver beet. PM - Had lunch in Frenkofen; a meal of whole grain rolls, eggs, nutella and bananas that we borrowed ...

It was a good day for driving. It was quiet on the road so we made good time and drove further then we expected to. We left Utrecht at 1 pm and we arrived in Hengersberg at 7.30 pm. We initially wanted a hotel in Metten, but all the hotels in that small town were full. The hotel we ended up in was very nice, clean and spacious.
After we were settled we ...
