    Steyr for a night

A travel blog entry by lizzierees on Dec 16, 2013

We have arrived in Steyr to stay for 1 night. It's really nice here - I wish we could be staying here for longer! The town centre is sort of a mix between Bad Ischl and Graz - busy but not commercialised. The hotel is really nice as well... About a 5 minute walk through a maze to our rooms though! We stopped in Mauthausen, the actual place where the idea for this trip originated. ...

Left the Hilton about 930am. Had some rain on the way to Cesky Krumlov. Arrived about 1pm. Wandered about the old Town, absolutely fabulous. Dinner at a Italian Restaurant around the corner from the hotel. We had a drink at the bar and then had dinner at the restaurant. We shared a beef carpaccio, for mains Leonie had a Fritto Misto and I had prawns with a Whisky and tomato sauce. Both dishes where excellent and got washed down with a nice Italian ...

... small village, UNESCO World Heritage site in the Czech Republic, about a 2 hour bus ride. We leave in the pouring rain and have a beautiful drive through the Austrian and Czech Republic countryside. Our guide is quite informative and interesting to hear her talk about taking tours to Czechoslovakia when it was a Communist country. After arriving in the village, the ...
