We have arrived in Steyr to stay for 1 night. It's really nice here - I wish we could be staying here for longer! The town centre is sort of a mix between Bad Ischl and Graz - busy but not commercialised. The hotel is really nice as well... About a 5 minute walk through a maze to our rooms though! I've got a long way to go to get home and not long to do it in....as North Serbia & Hungary are very flat & very unexciting I hit the road, did 460 miles and finished up in a one horse town in Austria.

... of the time. We didn't sweat so much and didn't see many faces during the rainy spells. We managed to cover 84km to reach Grein, which doesn't give me very good vibes as a city to be honest. Only one restaurant opened after 9, a shady campsite, also not helped by rain... Anyways tomorrow we shall be on our way to cover half of the 165km separating us from Vienna, and should be there on Saturday ...

So there we are, on the most visited chunk of the Danube cycle path, between Donau and Vienna. There, a new breed of tourist is taking its roots. The cyclotourist. He can travel on his own or in group, from Europe, America or Asia. He is exactly like us. He has Ortlieb panniers, randonneur type bike, and says hi to us all the time. To avoid him, we.... just can't. He takes any potential lunch spot ...

... middle of the mountains for a nice walk and coffee and cake! The feeding frenzy continues! I nthe Lonely Planet Austria, they say the two things you must do in Austria is shake Hands with everyone and Keep eating the Food, they weren't joking. they are genuinely upset if you refuse Food! I'll Need two seats to travel home!

    We were only here for night but it was very enjoyable. Breakfast was so good!
