    ... parking lot further up the hill, once I had figured out what the parking lot attendant was saying to me in rapid Hungarian. It also helped to have been there the previous day, so his arm motions made sense. I confirmed what he was telling us to do in English, and we all got a laugh out of his assuming a language based on our Hungarian license plate.

    ... off the highway when he saw the name of the ski area on a sign. Sam was hemming and hawing about whether to ski or snowboard until the last possible second, and in the end decided to go with snowboarding.     ... loft for the boys to sleep in, and there is a children’s play area just off the bar with a climbing wall! Only downside is that they stop serving at 9 pm. That and the fact that Sam twisted his ankle just before we left home and it still hurts, so keep your fingers crossed that he will be able to ski tomorrow.

    ... peacock won the rights to sit on the bench and the crow backed down in shame. It was riveting to watch. We also saw an all-white peacock, something neither of us had ever seen.

    ... dumplings with onions and lots of cheese. It's been likened as the 'Austrian version of mac and cheese'. The normal version also has speck, a cured ham. Of course I ordered Almdudler to accompany my meal.
