    ... us back to the bus stop and when we asked was there a bus coming soon, he answered "nein", which we knew to be no. It turns out that there is a connection with Mannheim here because Elector Carl Theodor was made Prince of Bavaria in the mid 18th Century and relocated south where he reformed the salt mining industry. Despite progress, he wasn't too popular though and he once remarked that Pfälzischer Wein (wine from the province) was better than Bavarian beer! ...

    Back on the mainland, we decided it was so nice that we would stay for dinner. There was a
    festival on at the shoreline with tents and live music so we decided to take in the surroundings with a beer and some BBQ chicken and chips. It was the perfect way to end the day and magical to see the mountains fade in the falling light and turn into silhouettes. We didn’t have long to drive into the mountains to our hotel called Prinzregent in Marquartstein.

Swarovski Crystals are widely known and recognized across the world, and we were lucky enough to be touring the Austrian town where they come from. It was a gorgeous building- crystals lining the walls, stairs, even bathroom stalls.
