... 5 hours each way and we got the most beautiful views of the Swiss Alps. At the top is a big building with viewing platforms, entrances out onto the mountain, an ice palace and shops and restaurants. We wandered around and then sat and ate our lunch outside on a viewing platform. It was 1.7 degrees Celsius at the top but when the wind died down the sun was shining and it was quite warm! When we got back we had a weeks worth of washing to do which took us like an hour and cost us about ...

... the Matterhorn, and Jungfrau, the 2 tallest mountains in Europe. We drove back to back to Interlarken and walked around the old town and had a beer in a little town square. Interlarken has a little tow. Square and a church/clock but no where to sit and have a drink. We went back to the apartment and made steak and vegetables. We miss the home cooked food. Martin gave us more information on the area and some good ideas for tomorrow. We had another early ...

Our hike, which was quite difficult, took us 1000 feet up, into this amazing alpine meadow, with huge waterfalls and a ...

... for a bet, I guess. We arrived at the top (the last 40 minutes or so are in a tunnel, so not for claustrophobics), and followed the suggested route around the various features. The Sphinx outdoor observation platform provides an almost 360 degree panorama of the snow covered mountains which was awesome. The other features to explore include an exhibition paying tribute to those who lost their lives, ...

    Innsbruck to Interlaken

... handy facilities and breakfast included made it seem more reasonable….certainly compared to Swiss hotels. Enjoyed watching seemingly endless (well, until dark) para-gliders land on the ovals/reserve in front of the town centre, from our bedroom window.

Ps didn’t mention morning detour to Innsbruck airport, to be given an English GPS – made navigating sooo much easier – no probs….phew. what a ...
