... arrival in Saarbrucken we are treated to an awesome Greek theme lunch with cold beer followed by a gentle walk through the city center. The city lies on the banks of the River Saar which is quite picturesque with old barges and a nice esplanade. It was raining a little but not enough to dampen our spirits.

First day trip of the week: Köln. Beautiful cosmopolitan city with cool mixture of old and new. The cathedral is probably the best gothic church we've visited thus far (will have to compare with Notre Dame next week). Lots of people visiting from the Rhine River cruise boats. Yikes! We also went to the outdoor market and had a type of horse hamburger and hot dog. Bro ugh some spices for home and just had a look around.

Later we went to Jutta's parents Garden House with is in a type of community. Provided some pictures.

We leave for the Austrian Alps first thing Sunday ...
