... and get a few souvenirs. I had taken my hat off for a picture and soon discovered I had lost it again! We had just gotten back to the dock. The guys headed up to a Biergarten, Jayj went to the ship for a shower and Sannie and I retraced our steps ( there were about 100 and they were all up!) and finally saw an orange hat on a post. It was right in front of a building where I had taken a picture of Bob. Yea!

No no time to change for dinner. We headed down to our usual ...

  • The second half of the day was on the bus after lunch. Napping was popular. I worked on my cross stitch some more. We watched the scenery. We saw some storms in the distance but never had rain ourselves. We were excited to reach Vilshoffen and crossed the bridge over the Danube and saw our River ship. The four buses comprise almost everyone who is on the ship with us. Only a few people joined the group in Vilshoffen.

... carnival started as a result of the lower classes demanding more from their rulers. As a result a festival of equality was created where everyone could party and be merry and enjoy equally. Watch out because the masks have historical significance so try and stay away from the prostitute and dr varieties. Venice filled your head with many beautiful pictures but hurt my wallet!! ... was only 3 degrees and light showers but this didn't stop us walking around to see where Salzburg's greatest son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was born in 1756. What did it more for me though was to see where Doppler (physicist of Doppler effect fame) lived. We also saw other locations where scenes from the 1964 musical film were filmed.
