... big Derby game was on Werder-HSV but we couldn't get tickets as it was sold out. Excitedly we realised our hotel had sky Bundesliga so we could watch it in our room! Werder one and the whole town partied for days!!

Going to the airport, we watched the town centre fade into the distance as the tram travelled over the bridge. We rubbed the Town Musician Donkey's legs....it is the lucky thing to do to make sure you return to Bremen again.

It was great after the game to head to Tom and Karo to have nice warm soup and gyros and chips!!! Then a bier at the Shuettinger and a jaunt through the snowy town centre for some photos...then back home, heaters up and under our big fluffy doona!

We've had a pretty quite and relaxing few weeks since Christmas and New year and have not been out and about all that much or traveling, just enjoying our cosy home and our local restaurants. Today was another long day, although having a decent nights sleep made things infinitely easier to bear...however, dealing with airports and coaches and nutso crazy people made it infinitely worse, so I'm not sure we came out ahead in the transaction.

However, I am happy to report that our cat is finally home and that I'm feeling much better. On the flip side, my foot has been acting up, so I think I'm adios-ing my shoes the minute we get back to ...

... how poorly we’d slept last night. We went for dinner--nothing fancy--and then walked across the river again to a small community theatre to see a German-language version of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Nights’ Dream.” It’s a play we are so familiar with it didn’t matter that the language was foreign to our ears--we laughed and enjoyed every minute of it! It was absolutely wonderful, and a fantastic way to end ...
