... about 20km/h for the 80km we were on there. So much for no speed limits!!
The rest of the drive went fine and we made it to our Hotel. They had left us a note and our key so we let ourselves in as it was then 10pm! That was a really long drive. The hotel here is much nicer than the last one at least - there is actually room to move and its very modern. I really thought we weren't going to make it for a while though.
... on the way into Fussen to take photos of the Alps & Schloss Neuschwanstein. It is a spectacular sight perched high in the mountain tops.
We drive into Schwangau to find accomodation. We head to the information centre & Clint rings some places on the accomodation board. He finds us a gorgeous guest house on the outskirts of town. We were very comfortable. We ate at a nearby restuarant for dinner & slept well in our very comfortable beds.

castle which stood on a high rock at the edge of the road. While here I realised
there was not much traffic at all coming down this road and so began to wonder
if it was even open over the pass.
Back on my bike and upwards we go. No cars at all and I really am getting
worried. All the parking areas along the way have large "Closed" signs over them

(I did get a postcard booklet of what the inside looks like) We walked through all the parts that were completed, and we even had a chance to see part of the castle that was never finished as well. It was incredible inside. I could see why it took so long in order to finish everything- it was all so intricate! Wow. Walking up in the alps with the cows and their bells, sun shining and green everywhere is breathtaking. We went to the castle. Pat and Stef went up to it and my mom and I entertained ourselves below. Drove home to Kapellen after several hours in LA traffic. No place like home. As beautiful as the alps are I loved coming back to Kapellen. It's my kind of town. Crazy day starts tomorrow, all day wedding. Poor ...
