Due to the touristic popularity of the island it's not really easy to find a cheap place to stay. Also I don't want to spend my free time with tourists for three months...

So I found people through the Internet who live there and helped me looking for a room. The results are that I can sub rent ...

They are now standing outside my window and Hansel ...

... in German was a challenge, but we tried our best. After the service, a couple men came up to us to tell us that they were related to us as well! Such a friendly, friendly people and church. I am so proud that our ancestors came from this community. We went to Derene's house afterward to have coffee, cookies and chat some more. We met Dennis DeVries, Derene (Masselink)'s son, who reminded us of our cousins the Van ...

Ok, so first of all... Sorry for the lack of communication over the last
few days... Trip started all good, had a great run from Norrtälje to
Malmö where we stopped for a few hours to catch up on some sleep.

The next day we drove across the bridge from Sweden to Denmark and
continued on to Rödby where we caught a ferry to Puttgarden, Germany...
Driving along for hours, crossed ...
