    Beautiful Luzern to Interlaken!

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Mar 03, 2015

... pretty warm! After walking along the lake side for awhile I decided it was time to get some lunch and get on the train to Interlaken as I had no idea how long it was going to take me. When I checked my bank account yesterday I was quite shocked at how low my account was so I need to be a bit more careful, especially with everything is Switzerland being so expensive! So I went to the supermarket and managed a 3 franc lunch by getting ...

... A81 south out of Stuttgart... There were road works at the interchange, but we followed the detour and everything looked great. Not far now.

The road kept going and going. Exits were passing by, the road signs did not make sense, the sky turned black, very black, We kept checking... yes we were on the A81. Stopping for refreshment and bearings, we checked and checked again... this must be the right way; we must almost be at the exit for Constance. Back on the ...

... for the afternoon ride. More gorgeous scenery, some minor climbs, some major descents. Got into Lucern around 5:30 after riding about 70 km. Dinner was on our own tonight, so we went to a Rathaus for bier and brats. The building was built in 1602 and has stone arches and floors. The food was very good; the beer was better! Tomorrow the rain is expected to return; we have a long 100-km day ...

... think of a single aspect of Interlaken that I disliked. The entire city was so friendly and eager to offer help that it was extremely easy to get around and communicate. It was, however, a very expensive environment due to their usage of both the Euro and the Swiss Franc, but entirely worth it. We didn't get a chance to try some Swiss fondue because it was so expensive, but smelt good! We did a lot of walking around and exploring for the most part, but also did some ...

... as they wanted to do a hike, and I had to leave late afternoon to get to my next stop. Had a walk around town, took a funicular up to another smaller peak and took lots of photos by a waterfall, filled up my water bottle, super fresh and chilled water mmm! Made my way back down the mountain, to lautebrunnen, Interlaken ost, then took a boat across lake brienz, then a train to where I am now, Luzern. (By the way, don't judge me for the incorrectly spelt German/Swiss names :P) had ...
