A travel blog entry by keshiak on Aug 08, 2015

I need to mark Basel on the map & would also like to say to anyone reading this that might be planning a trip to the area, we stayed at The Passage hotel - it was EXCELLENT ! and I would highly recommend it; awesome shower, big rooms, comfy bed, mini fridge (if you can afford that sort of thing), a fantastic gym downstairs, and just a hop, skip, and jump away from anything and everything you could possibly want. ...

Ron and I bought food in the Leidl Supermarket next to our hotel and ate it in our ...

After another amazing German breakfast we set off on a loop walk of 10km. We walked through Ravennaschlucht Gorge along the River Ravenna. Once again some of this path was part if the Santiago Camino way. It was warmer today, about 30 degrees. It was beautiful walking in the Schwarzwald. We saw so many more old buildings and natural forest than you would see in the car. We investigated water wheel driven mills with drop saws for logging and flour ...

... most liveable and sustainable town. Incredibly our day of riding the trains cost us nothing because we have regional guest cards which are issued by all accommodation providers to overnight stayers. They give free travel and other discounts within a set region for the time of your stay. It is somewhat humbling to be treated so well. The scenery was great, alpine villages, meadows, lakes and ski resorts. Tomorrow we get back on the ebikes and cross the Rhein into France. Yippee. Love ...
