... building the subway system was also dumped here. The subway was built for the Olympics in 1972. We took umbrellas with us this morning. Didn't need to use them. Caught a couple of surfers in the river --- ? a branch off of the Isar? They go back and forth in this one area. They tied the board to their leg like the California surfers do. They also had wet suits on. Thez seemed to skate board on the water. Speaking of which, I haven't seen any skate boarders. Saw a business ...

Munich, Bavaria, Germany oliveramber... Beer Garden for dinner. While our actual waitress did not speak English - one of the chefs knew enough to save us from ordering cold entrees for our dinner. Again, in the spirit of travel and discovery, Grace and I went for the very German Cardon Blue - with a icy cold, extremely small (200mL) beer. Tomorrow it's an early start and a two hour drive to Nufgkjsdkusb Castle (I have no idea how to spell it - but it does start with an 'N'). Cheers, Pat & Grace
Munich, Germany patngrace... white castle with towers everywhere, set on top of a mountain, which looks out to a lake of bright blue, then there are trees, mountains, and green everywhere else. When I look back at my photos from the balcony of the castle, it looks like a painting. The inside of the castle was awesome too! King Ludwig the II, or Mad Kind Ludwig had some good taste (historians think he may have been gay.) The ceilings were painted with bright frescos, the ...
Munich, Germany lmk... There are signs posted that surfers and swimmers are prohibited from being there but they still come. Germany is not litigious like we are back home. If you're going to do something stupid, that's your problem. Do so at your own risk. I kind of like it. I'm off to Ladies night tonight at Papacito's with Romi and a few friends tonight. Two free drinks and a lot of lung damage no doubt! auf Wiedersehen!
Munich, Germany friskyc... afternoon out there catching up on a warm (for here), sunny afternoon. On the walk back to the subway, we had the misfortune of walking by the area of the park where nude sunbathing was on parade -- and parade is probably the right word for one of these guys. Just standing up by the river, posing, all proud of himself. It was pretty amusing. Back to Steve's for a two hour power nap, while he ...
Munich, Germany michaelshodson... version of Bye, Bye, Bye of course- it was cool) We drove around Munich for an hour looking at the sights. THen we went to an italian restaurant and got some lunch. We sat down eating lunch on Cori´s balcony when I received around 5 text messages from friends at home who were celebrating new years. Cori and I were so incredibly tired. I had a siesta and unfortunately Cori had to start work at 5. I was going to go out with one of her work friends for the ...
Munich, Bavaria, Germany sarah.... b-c we wanted to see the rhine in the day and spend some time in the cities on the river. we only had 45 min there, then we had to run with all our gear to the bus stop then get a train back to the station. then we left on the third to last train down the rhine, this means 2 50 min stops at whatever cities. So the rhine river was good, not as amazing as I wanted, still some nice ...

Munich, Germany mtantow... was proving to be a wealth of knowledge when it comes to European history and so far is turning out to be a great tour manager. We finally arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in the suburbs of Munich. Patrice and I got a room overlooking the courtyard and when I looked out over the balcony, there was Patrick below trying to get my attention. He had apparently missed the coach again in Paris and took a train to Munich to meet up with us. This room was by far the best of the entire ...
