... traditional choir carols. And then, with a trumpet flourish and a lot of dry ice, the Christmas fairy appeared on the balcony! I had no idea what she said, but she looked wonderful with her long blonde curls, her sparkly robe and the glitter she cast about her, and I was spellbound... though I'm sure the gluwein helped with that!

We had enjoyed the ...

Day 88 - Prague - Munich

A travel blog entry by rachaelmcneil on Oct 06, 2014

Unfortunately this bus was only 5 hours and even tho I slept well, with the constant interruptions I would have only slept maximum 3 hours! It was 4am when I got to Munich airport and my flight home wasn't until 10.35 pm so it was going to be another long day! I found some seats to lay on when I got to the airport and maybe got another 1.5 hours sleep which was nice. The day morning went pretty quick and I new I had ...

Arrival at Munich Airport

A travel blog entry by jonkinne on Oct 03, 2014

Late-afternoon flight from Dubrovnik arrived in Munich around 1830. Took S-Bahn and the U-Bahn to our Gasthaus in Garching, north of Munich, where we decided to stay to avoid having to drive in Munich traffic and hassle with parking. Public transportation in Munich is so good and so reasonably-priced that we delayed even picking up our car until the day we'd be leaving Munich for Salzburg.

We are both vegetarian and he told me a lot about India and Hinduism. It was very interesting and now there's another country I'd like to visit. Because we were changed to this flight at the last moment, the crew had no info to provide vegetarian meals for us, so ...

Munich to Manchester

Arrived at Munich 7.30am local time, but 1.30am Toronto time. Had a little over an hour to change planes for Manchester. Took some photos of beer steins for sale in a shop at the airport and then a group photo in a coffee shop. Left Munich at 9am for the 2 hour flight to Manchester. Munich from the air was a mass of green patchwork areas interspersed with a group of houses - little villages. Photographed a lovely cloud formation as we climbed up above the ...
