Today we had a full day in lucerne, and started off by seeing the "Sad Lion". The sad lion is a large lion monument carved into the side of of cliff. It commemorates the members of the Swiss guard who died protecting the french king and queen during the French Revolution. We were then allowed some shopping time in town. We first went to Bucherer, which is 5 levels of shops. The first 2 levels have ...

... warm character and a special ambience. Each room is decorated differently, and in different colors. It appears to be authentic old Italian in design. We would stay here again if it wasn't so far away from the heart of Venice.

Our coach left right on time, trying to keep ahead of traffic congestion like we encountered on our journey from Munich into Venice a few days ago. We have a lot of miles to cover before arriving in Lucerne later this afternoon. Around 10:00 we made a 45 ...

So you treasure the time you do spend with someone even more so then when you're home, because you know it won't last. That's a firm reality of traveling. But perhaps, it's a shame we don't treasure our time with loved ones back home, as much we do with strangers ...

... Wonderful with a white wine sauce and shrimp. Tomorrow will be a get acquainted day with this city. Judy and I will go for the walk with the group which should last an hour or so and then we'll head out on our own. The city is so clean, River runs through it...the Reuss River. There is a beautiful wooden bridge lined on the outside with flowers that crosses the river from our hotel side to Old ...

    Munich to Lucerne

A travel blog entry by karina.evans93 on Jul 27, 2013

... on. A few people actually changed hotels they were that disappointed with the jail hotel. I genuinely don't think it's that bad. It's just a little different and not what we've been used to but at least we're not camping in this heat. After dinner our tour manager organised a pub crawl through a guy who used to work for contiki but now all he does is run pub crawls in Lucerne now. It was 20francs to go which included free entry to 2 pubs and 1 club and a free shot on entry to each ...
