    ... hang around for too long without burning holes in my pockets.

    I did manage to slot in a last meal on the final evening mind, wondering into town I treated myself and let the waiter get creative with my drink and wine selection. Of course, I regretted that at bill time, but a worthy sacrifice.

    Then home via train, oops sat in first class with a second class ticket and there were no ticket inspectors... Genuine mistake. It may happen again. More cows and chalets and precision stacked woodpiles - there are laws here apparently.

    Quick nap then out for fondue with Suzanne and Stephane. Our final swiss specialty. We are given a lesson in fondue etiquette by people who know. I wash mine down with another local wine. Mostly the whites are ...

    ... places. Soon enough the door bell rang and father's brother stood, ready to take me to my new temporary home in Bern. Said my goodbyes and well wishes and we were off. I was happy to see my other grandparents again, it's been a while. My grandmother already, told me about all of the things we would do, she gave me books to read, clothes to try on and arts and crafts projects to undertake together.     Today we woke up in our 6 bed dorm which was quite strange to be surrounded by 3 unfarmliar Asians but they seemed friendly so it was ok. Hostel is very nice here, great kitchen and big common room with wifi (shame I don't have a phone to appreciate it but :-D) This morning we decided to go straight to the bear park to go and see the big grizzly bears along side the river which was very very cool. From Switzerland's highest church tower, we enjoyed magnificent views across the city and into the Bernese Mittelland and the snow-capped mountains of the Bernese Oberland – even Jungfrau. Outside, we saw the elaborate portal depicting the Last Judgment. We soon noticed the fountains which are part of the eleven Renaissance allegorical statues on public fountains in the Old Town. ...
