... farming town of Baernzell. Sampled the local schnapps (called Bayernwurz), and enjoyed the local rye bread fresh from the 300 year old brick oven. After indulging in local specialities, we took a horse drawn carriage ride through the beautiful farmland, which was very peaceful.

... subject of signs, it's very pleasing to see very few traffic or other signs around, no sign clutter!! There's a lot to like about this part of Germany, the people are helpful, friendly, courteous to cyclists and go quietly about their work. The only downside I can see is their smoking habits, everyone smokes! There are cigarette vending machines in hotels, in the streets and even the side of the road, a pack of twenty costs ...

... sauerkraut and Lana turkey medallions all washed down with beer! A lot of high school kids dressed up in Bavarian costumes and yelling & shouting, we suspect High School maybe finished! Our accommodation along the Danube has varied from private guesthouses to four star Hotels. All have been excellent, great hosts in the Gasthaus to informative staff at the Hotels. And they all speak English, to varying ...

... the hotelrestaurant to have some dinner. It was simple but nicely prepared. We had a a tomato creme soup and a Wiener Schnitzel for me, trout and veal for Erwin.
Back in our room we watched Germany struggle with Ghana and went to bed. Tomorrow is going to be another long day of driving and we should be able to make it to the campground in the afternoon.
