... was more than enough time to feel the power of the afternoon sun even though I applied lots of suntan lotion.

Unfortunately we heard that another English couple from Cardiff, we had met earlier in the week, had been robbed at knife point on the beach, but there were rumours flying around that their belongings had been recovered. Lamu is that kind of place where news travels fast and everyone knows everyone, but that is part of its attraction.

... of Bob Marley and lots of Lamu. Diana who isn’t the best at bargaining bought a painting of Lamu for 700, she probably could have got it a bit cheaper but it was really cool anyway. Jerome bought the worst painting ever for 500... he even admits how terrible it is but Patrick worked his magic and got the sale. I was keen for a Bob Marley poster but wanted something a bit different so got Patrick to make one of Bob Marley smoking with Obama... genius. It was 1500 ($15) ...

The only negative we would say was that it was a dry hotel which we didn’t find out until we were already settled in - but it’s a minor point as I’m not drinking due to the antibiotics and hey, it’s about time us girls had some time off. Well, another amazing five weeks has just passed here in Africa and I suppose I'd better start from the beginning again.
