    Rude, unfriendly, unhelpful sevice

This place is cheap as chips - a single room with fan and WiFi can be procured for a mere 120 baht. Needless to say, the accommodation is very basic (hard single beds, paper-thin bamboo walls, etc. etc.) but this is nothing compared to the unnecessary rudeness of the Lamchang hostess. She initially short-changed me (quite possibly an honest mistake), but after insisting on having my correct change refunded, she became so unpleasant and rude that it made the rest of my stay very unenjoyable. This was even AFTER I did my utmost to be kind and pleasant to overcome the initial misunderstanding. Some friends stayed at a much newer, more modern, cleaner establishment up the road (Thai 1 On, Moon Maung Soi 9) for only 150 baht for a single room with WiFi.

... the market Marco had bought us a lolly pop each which was very kind :) we sat eating lolly pops and chit chatting until we arrived. It was just past 12 and we had lunch at the bottom of the jungle, we enjoyed stir fried vegetables and rice with chilli, it was very nice. We started our trek into the jungle. We trekked for about 30mins and arrived at our first water fall. The waterfall had a natural slide in it created by the rock, our guide encouraged us to climb up and slide ...

... night before heading north to Chiang Mai. I had tried to book an overnight sleeper train almost a month previously, however upon arrival at the train station I discovered that the Thai booking system had failed me. I was disappointed but not surprised. The send-an-email-to-the-train-company-and- hope-for-a-reply method of booking had not inspired much confidence in me. As a result, we ended up paying far more than ...

    When in Thailand...

... families are the most important resource when it comes to prevention and rehabilitation, which completely makes sense in a collectivist culture. When we got back to our hotel, me and a few of the girls decided to go out to a local cafe for dinner. Every time we go out to dinner in Thailand it is such a process; however, the nice thing is there is never and waits! Anyways, I think going out to dinner in Thailand is interesting because they barely ...

... much weird stuff, I ate a grasshopper which tasted just like crackling. There was some black jelly that we asked about and they just kept saying it was black jelly so god knows what that was.
Then back to the hostel for some beers and to get eaten alive by insects but it was fun.
There was a guy in our dorm that literally didn't leave the room for 2 days, just sat on his laptop and ignored ...

... dish. We cooked all from scratch - Tom Yum soup, made Thai curry paste, Thai Curry, Chicken in ginger, Pad Thai, Spring rolls and Banana in coconut milk. They all tasted amazingly good, we got a certificate, a cook book and we left felling absolutely bloated, however we've already forgotten pretty much everything and would have no idea how to do make any of it again, so we'll stick to street food. The following day we took a trip ...
