        Rude, unfriendly, unhelpful sevice

This place is cheap as chips - a single room with fan and WiFi can be procured for a mere 120 baht. Needless to say, the accommodation is very basic (hard single beds, paper-thin bamboo walls, etc. etc.) but this is nothing compared to the unnecessary rudeness of the Lamchang hostess. She initially short-changed me (quite possibly an honest mistake), but after insisting on having my correct change refunded, she became so unpleasant and rude that it made the rest of my stay very unenjoyable. This was even AFTER I did my utmost to be kind and pleasant to overcome the initial misunderstanding. Some friends stayed at a much newer, more modern, cleaner establishment up the road (Thai 1 On, Moon Maung Soi 9) for only 150 baht for a single room with WiFi.

I’ve been traveling for more than two weeks now. I spent one year working and traveling in Australia in 2012, so I am not new to solo traveling. I have already noticed a few differences between traveling in Australia and in Southeast Asia, and I also noticed that I had to get used to traveling again. ...

... all the women sell their quilts, purses, jewelry, batik pillows and many other chachkas. Being that there were many different tribes, they were all dressed differently , like a "small small world" it was so colorful. Where are the men?? Well they work in the field, they build the houses and performed other heavy chores. Some of the tribes come from Tibet, others from China.

The best was saved for last.
That is the long neck tribes ...

... guide. We first met a 2 ton female named Som, and her brother, Bank. They were giant beautiful cats who spent most of the time snoozing, but would wake up to play with one another or make a funny gesture. Then, we went into the smallest tigers section. There was a bit of a line there, but soon our name was called. We washed our hands, changed shoes, and entered a world of delightful tiger babies. They were mostly resting but would occasionally wake up to play. ...

... at the ceiling. I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea of this but it's just not happening. Will is still and silent. Not a word. Tears start flowing from my eyes just thinking about him and his son and family. It's just not possible. After 5 minutes of silence Will turns to me and says "I can't believe he's gone. I really liked him he was such a nice guy and I really enjoyed diving with him!" Our morning started out dull from these news but got up anyways and started the day. ...

... Will a new pair of sandals. He took the pair from the hotel and he's been complaining since. 2000 Still no sandals, but we found the food section (our favorite). We saw a stand where they were making fresh pad Thai. Line was long but worth the wait. Pad Thai was delicious. We carried on shopping. The market was packed and it seemed almost impossible to look at anything. It was just too full. Will found a stand with sandals (yay). Unfortunately ...
