    Rude, unfriendly, unhelpful sevice

This place is cheap as chips - a single room with fan and WiFi can be procured for a mere 120 baht. Needless to say, the accommodation is very basic (hard single beds, paper-thin bamboo walls, etc. etc.) but this is nothing compared to the unnecessary rudeness of the Lamchang hostess. She initially short-changed me (quite possibly an honest mistake), but after insisting on having my correct change refunded, she became so unpleasant and rude that it made the rest of my stay very unenjoyable. This was even AFTER I did my utmost to be kind and pleasant to overcome the initial misunderstanding. Some friends stayed at a much newer, more modern, cleaner establishment up the road (Thai 1 On, Moon Maung Soi 9) for only 150 baht for a single room with WiFi.

These two, along with me automatically getting re-enrolled to my school health insurance which costs $3000/year and still battling ridiculous healthcare charges from almost a year ago, made me not want to live in the US ever again. I kind of shut out all these ugly news about big corporates and policies when I turned away from the social policy world after university. They stress me ...

... I did, because I woke up in the morning to a most well deserved headache. No facial tattoo however, or tattoo of any kind.

That morning I had also signed up with the group to go to a cooking class. I was not in the mood to do anything, particularly to smell the smells of Thailand, go to the market to shop for ingredients, or learn things. Yet cooking schools are a very popular tourist attraction. They ...

... a plug in repellent and go off for a walkabout. Around the middle of the city is some sort of moat and the south east corner near to where we are staying is a part of the castle walls. They rebuilt it, but ruins going back to 1263.. It got rebuilt in 1800s. Its pretty cool! We walk up to the south west side of the moat and find an amazing little park! There's people practicing yoga, rope walking and ...

We ended the day by having a informal class on assertive communication. We had a very good discussion and it is something I definately need to make a conscious effort to work on especially since I will soon need to be a patient advocate as a ...

... tea leaf salad. It is just as good as we remembered it being 2 years ago. Such a unique plate of food. We retire to bed feeling knackered and pass out on our rock hard ****** bed.

    Day 7
Nothing planned today so we get up after a poor night sleep and have a walk around Chiang Mai old town. Really is a delightful place and the weather is great too. We go hunting for the Silver Temple which we find eventually. This temple is made with ...
