Historical Traveler Reviews Lambis Studios Lindos
Great place to stay
I have just returned from a weeks stay at these apartments. I booked it last minute on the internet for myself and 3 children aged 5, 3 and 1. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was very spacious and clean. Towels and linen changed twice a week. I had many perks that other hotels did not have such as washing up liquid and new sponges on your arrival.
They have swings and a slide at the side of the pool which is a great distraction when the children get fed up play in the pool and it also keeps them occupied in the evening if you decide not to go into Lindos town.
It is up a steep hill, but taxis are cheap at 4-5 euros so it does make the trek back easier.
I would certainly return to this accommodation and have recommended it to everyone who has thought of going to Rhodes.
Having read all the positive reviews about the Lambis Studios before booking I was still slightly unsure what to expect on arrival. Having travelled to many of the Greek islands I was amazed to find a truly lovely apartment complete with shower curtain and a hairdryer, the towels and sheets were in good condition and changed on a regular basis. Yes we did have to pay 100 Euros for the air conditioning in order to survive but it was a far superior system to some we have experienced in the past and was quiet enough to have running while sleeping. Our apartment was on the ground floor surrounded by lovely gardens and a little waterfall and stream which made it a really tranquil location. The service/food at the pool side bar was very good and will stay open as long as there is someone drinking in there. There are loads of sunbeds and brollies and thank goodness no one had started the "lets get up at 6am and save them" scenario.
It took us about 15 minutes to walk into the centre of Lindos and we pride ourselves on being the only guests to never get a taxi back, we only set ourselves this target in order to walk off the vast quantities of wine and food we were consuming! It is a fantastic location but would not suit anyone with walking difficulties or young children.
On a final note If you are considering booking these apartments then just do it, there really isnt anything (apart from that hill) that I would change.
Fantastic Lambis Studios
Just returned from 2 fantastic weeks at the Lambis Studios in Lindos. I had read the reviews before going there and they seemed a little over the top in praising the place, but I can assure you that the apartments are as good as they get. The rooms were very spacious and clean, they are even supplied with tea towels and washing up liquid. The rooms are cleaned 6 days a week and sheets and towels changed twice a week. The apartment site is on a bit of a hill and is set in wonderfull gardens. The bar opens for drinks and snacks at 9 am and closes when the last customer goes to bed. The site is just out of the town, which is good as you are away from the noise, also being up the hill you get any breeze that is about, and boy do you need it. The walk into town is all down hill and takes 10 to 15 mins, we always got a taxi back which only cost 4 Euros. The pool is a decent size and again very clean, plenty of sunbeds and shades. Our first week there was brilliant because it was so quiet and peacefull by the pool, during our second week a family of a mother with 4 kids and a boyfriend of one of the kids moved in and they were not the quietest, in fact within 10 mins of them by the pool I knew all there names through them shouting at each other. They did not spoil it though because some days they went out and we were all left in peace again. The apartments are privately owned, they rent out 4 blocks to First Choice, but there is a brand new block of 8 apartments that they let out privately, these have the advantage of a seperate bedrom and lounge, although thet are still the same overall size as the rest. We hired a car for 3 days, as there was only 2 of us, we only needed a small economy one, the rep wanted 153 euros for the 3 days, we went into town to Rodos car hire and got one for 80 Euros for 3 days, incl full insurance and air con. Two days later we drove into the next village, Pefkos, and they had a special offer of 50 Euros for exactley the same car. It was the same for the excursions, First Choice wanted more than the agents were changing in the town. We traveled with First Choice , and I must say that I would not hesitate about going with them again, ALL staff where very helpful, everything went as per timetable, even when we were dropped off at the airport for our return trip, we were told which door to go in, which desk number to go to, and then there was staff inside to guide to the right queue, and more staff about if you needed any help, a very good service. Beware, there are TWO Lambis Studios, this one with a pool and is new and the other one is in town and is just a block converted into rooms, our friends booked this one by mistake and only stayed there one night, then had to pay again to come up to the real Lambis Studios with us. As a final note, if you are thinking of booking a holiday to the Lambis DO IT, if you have already booked, well done, you will not be disappointed.
What Can I Say
Just back from two wonderful weeks here ,everything that has been said is true ,wonderfull studios ,beautiful gardens, great staff, great pool ,will return.
Having just returned from the wonderful Lambis Studious-myself & my wife, mid 30's, have had a great holiday. The accomodation was not a disappointment-wonderful landscaped gardens, superb views, rooms were spacious and of a good standard and the staff were very friendly & helpful.
Apartments are 10-15 min walk from Lindos Centre up a steep road but this is quite
good to burn off the excess food & drink from your evening on the town.
Taxis are quite cheap, so even if you are less mobile you could stay here but get taxis
to and from town. 4 euros per trip. There are lots of bars and resturants in Lindos - (Acropolis being our favorite)
Pool is great, plenty of sun loungers for sun-worshippers. But just having returned
and temperatures in the 40`s, the bar is a nice haven for a chat, cool drinks and
Bar area is small but has everything you need. Food is quite cheap at the
bar and you get large portions for your money. The Sunday night barbecue is a good way to meet fellow guests and was great fun.
Both Nikos the barman (daytime) and the gardener-Arturo who pops in for his lunch
break are excellent and are pleased to speak to customers and are very helpful.
We hired a car for 3 days from Marathon at a cost of 45 euros ( the rep wanted 60 euros a day!!) this was a great way to see the island and the roads are good - went to the water park and Rhodes town which is a must.
In all it was a fantastic holiday and if I visit Lindos again, I will definately be staying at the Lambis studios.
My wife and I have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Lambis studios. The studios were of a very high standard with plenty of storage space Very clean, well maintained and far exceeded the 3.stars plus that they are graded by First Choice. They are located about 10 minute walk ( downhill ) or 20 minute walk (uphill) from Lindos centre with great views of the sea and the Acropolis
Gardens were brilliant and colourful and were a credit to the gardener. Pool was also a good size and had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Mike the barman was ever helpful and sorted out any small problems quickly.
Small disadvatage in that they are located on a steep incline which might make it difficult for those with walking difficulties. Quiet location except for the donkeys!!
Would have no hesitation in recommending them.
Great apartments, clean and tidy, good location, great pool, would recomend to anyone.
Just got back from a wonderful week in Lindos staying at the Lambis Apartments.
We had booked 3* allocated on arrival and were more than pleased with our 2 apartments.
The Lambis is situated up the hill out of Lindos, about 5-10 mins walk to the main road and about another 5-10 min walk down to the town or beach. Be warned, the hill from the road to the town or beach is steep and it can be very hot, but there is a free bus service during the day.
The apartments are fairly new, well kitted out and serviced to a high standard. Air Conditioning available at 50 euro per week and Room Safe 10 euro per week.
We didn't use the pool, preferring to go down to the beach but it was well used by other guests and it and the gardens are beautifully maintained.
Grocery shopping available at the main road.
Our only gripe were the goats, donkeys and sheep that are in the 'fields' surrounding the hotel. They can get pretty vocal at dawn, not good when you've been sampling all the lovely bars Lindos has to offer!
There are two hotels called LAMBIS in Lindos but the Lambis Studios is up on the top of a hill, the other is in the town with no pool. The Lambis studios are brand new apartments only being open for 2 seasons. The rooms are very clean The staff are great and make your stay something to remember, The Lambis Studios is only a small complex with 32 apartments but also has a large pool and bar area.
Quite large with all modern pine furniture, pine double bed, white leather sofa that creates two single beds, television, two ring electric hob, kettle, toaster and fridge. brand new kitchen utensils, basic but all you need. the bathroom is very clean with a shower and a bath> They also have an emergency generator so if the sun isnt shinning you can still have piping hot water, there is also air conditioning but this is paid for seperatley. The apartments electricity works on a key fob so if you leave your room the electricity can not be left on as you need to take your keys with you. nice balcony equiped with clothes dryer and patio furniture and great views of Lindos Town and the Acropolis.
The apartments are cleaned daily with clean towels and sheets every 2 days.
Is large in comparison to the size of the complex and extreamly clean, more than enough sunbeds and umberellas to go around. The pool is also cleaned daily as are the sunbeds and pool area. there is outside toilets and showers also around the pool area, With toys for younger children and also lilos and balls available to use.
Small but equiped with every thing you need, They also offer a Menu which is quite basic but the food is of good size portions, cheap and very well prepared and presented
FOR A FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST
WAS ONLY 5.50 EURO'S
The gardens surrounding the Lambis Studios are tended to on a daily basis and are landscaped to a very high standard. There is also a beautiful water fall in the middle of all the apartments.
Staying at the Lambis Studios for two weeks was very relaxing and i would definatly return. We met and made some good friends as it is small and very freindly, we stayed from the 18th may untill the 2nd of June 2005
i am a freqent traveller and travell abroad 4 times a year i always like to write a review on destinations and they have not always been good i can asure you, people need to read what other holiday makers have wrote before making a decision to book this way you wont be dissapointed as holidays are so expensive.
