... it is very windy and very rough. Tender boats are needed here and if they say it is unsafe no one will be allowed to leave the ship. Unfortunately this proves to be the case. They allowed disembarking passengers off but those who were only visiting briefly had to stay on board. The upper decks were crowded and the wind fierce for the offshore photo shoots. There will be many upswept / wind tousled records of this moment ...

It is grander, more complex, than any of the other palaces and it is located ...

... had a couple hours to wander around Fira, the main rim village, and have lunch before catching the bus and heading to Oia (pronounced 'eee-ahh') our destination! We didn't want to walk too far because we were lugging our carry-on bags with us and it was very steep and hilly. I even had my airplane pillow and hat attached to my pack although they both came unattached. I recovered the pillow but my hat was gone!

... Chronologically, it spans 5500 years from Neolithic to Roman times. The setup was beautiful and I was buzzing around snapping pictures of everything. I have since learned that I was also a bit of an amusement to the rest of my group! They figured I'd end up so confused I wouldn't know what write-up went with what picture!! Horrors ... Oh ye of little faith!!

We stopped between the 1st and 2nd floor and had a ...
