Waiting for my Schengen (Italy) Visa

Just finished posting my impromptu trip to Nasau and Exuma, Bahamas experiencing the real Bahamas.

I am patiently waiting for my passport to be returned to me by Fedex. My passport is in the Italian Consulate in Miami for my Schengen Visa.

Funny, coz, I already have everything arranged, trip ticket and reservation to hostels, except for the Schengen Visa.

I am hoping I will be given a visa and that it will come to me in time for my trip scheduled in November 2-15.

Sara (that's me) in the meantime has had a week in New York City plus a couple unplanned extra days stuck in Ft. Lauderdale (due to Hurricane warnings). I've spent another 5 days on the babysitting circuit. Cooking, cleaning and hanging laundry on the line ...

Our Time in Freeport

... ferry. The next stop was the caves. The first cave we entered was called "Ben's Cave." I quickly asked.....is this named after you? He said yes....the cave had been there for years and was used by the native Lucayans. However Ben was the first scuba diver to explore the complete underwater system of the cavern. During the exploration, they had discovered several new species. Wow....science....right up my alley....(grin) After a few minutes down in ...

Getting there

... shabby state. We went to get some food for our fridge and at the grocery store we noticed two things. We were the only "white folks" and the only people paying with cash and not food stamps. Then once back at our hotel the workers there told us it was a lot safer to stay on the hotel grounds after dark rather than walk around. Wow, what an eye opener.
